Civil Litigation Paralegal

Remote but must be local to California.
Job Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including discovery responses, motions, pleadings, trial documents, and jury instructions for California courts.
- Review legal files and manage case documentation throughout the litigation process.
- Calculate and track statutory deadlines to ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Conduct legal research using electronic resources such as Lexis.
- Interview insured clients to gather information for discovery.
- Assist attorneys with trial, arbitration, and mediation preparation, including organizing evidence and coordinating with expert witnesses.
- Maintain confidential information while supporting attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle.
Must Have Skills / Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a Paralegal supporting California civil litigation, with a strong focus on discovery (required).
- 3–5+ years of paralegal experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of California civil procedure, litigation processes, and legal terminology.
- Experience drafting discovery responses, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research/software applications (Lexis experience preferred).
- Excellent written communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote environment.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate are preferred but not required. Relevant California civil litigation experience is the top priority.
Pay Rate: Up to $40/hr
