Serves as senior advisor to Director of Finance, and assists with daily operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll; administers the fiscal computer system including interface with vendors and maintenance contractors.  Able to work by 8:00 a.m. Monday-Friday in-office, unless approved by the General Manager/Department Director.

Essential Job Functions

1.         Generates monthly financial statements for review by Director of Finance.
2.         Provides financial schedules, journal entries and bank reconciliations (including loans owed to the corporation).
3.         Prepares delinquency list and collection letters. Acts as primary contact with affected members.  Prepares court filings.
4.         Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and collection process, and payroll.  Reviews account codes used and posting to general ledger. Oversees fixed assets.
5.         Acts a contact person for payments through Yardi Property Management System.
Processes member charges & increases through Yardi. Generate and mail (email) annual increase letters with the assistance of bookkeeper and contract processing specialist.
6.         Supervises real estate tax invoicing and reconciliation.
7.         Prepares accounts receivable reconciliation and corresponding corrections.
8.         Opens safe daily for after-hours deposits received.
9.         Observes yearly inventory.
10.       Supervises Fee-for-Service processing of invoices.
11.       Assists in preparation of annual budget.
12.       Prepares Substitute 1098 forms.  Reviews preparation of W2s, 1099s, and other year-end interest schedules. Prepares other year-end interest schedules.
13.       Acts as backup for all positions in the department.
14.       Prepares special projects for management.
15.       Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or General Manager.

Qualifications

Requires a BS degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience), prior work experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.  Familiarity with landlord tenant laws, real estate laws
and practices.  Must have good analytical, verbal and written communication skills. Requires excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.  Must have a valid driver’s license.
