This position is required to maintain the day-to-day compliance with internal control procedures as required by Section 112 of the FDIC Improvement Act (FDICIA), to perform quality control procedures required to meet regulatory reporting requirements, and to analyze the impact of new and prospective laws, regulations and accounting pronouncements that may affect NCB’s financial reporting and disclosure process.

Key tasks and responsibilities in order of importance.

      1. Monitor and update FDICIA documentation as required (40%)
      2. Assist management with the remediation of control gaps and escalate possible critical issues to senior management, as needed (20%)
      3. Assist Internal and External Audit with documentation requests (20%)
      4. Maintain and update the Company’s accounting policies and procedures (10%)

  • Schedule meetings with Bank personnel, as needed, to update internal control documentation.

Advice and Guidance

  • Advise VP, Internal Controls when critical findings or concerns surface that may potentially impact business processes and financial reporting.
  • Prepare internal audit documentation for new processes and software.

Organization and/or Individuals

Purpose of Contact

Interaction with employees across the bank.

Interaction with internal and external auditors and regulators and examiners

Discussions in order to update business process documentation for internal control compliance

Interaction with external auditors regarding filings and related information requests. Interaction with internal auditors on information requests, timing of testing and audit findings. Interaction with regulators and examiners regarding regulatory reporting issues.

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities should a new employee bring to this position:

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

CPA preferred

Internal Control framework experience

Advanced analytical abilities

Advanced written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel and Word. Familiarity with general ledger software packages.
