Join an established DC-based M&A firm as Director of M&A. Known for their quality, this firm has grown steadily over its 25-year history through its buy-side advisory services to multinational public companies.  Over time, the need for their approach on the side-side has grown and the need for a dedicated leader has emerged.

In this newly created role, the Director of M&A will use their ‘no job is too small’ mindset to further develop the sell-side practice through on-going business development and execution of deals.  The Director will utilize their record of success in M&A and be a key part of the leadership team. They will lead the strategic direction of this practice but also roll up their sleeves in this fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of complex client sell-side deals
    • Prepare and deliver client presentations in a clear and compelling manner
    • Provide detailed financial analysis, models, and strategic advice to clients
  • Develop new clients, win work and boost presence in the sell-side market
    • Represent the firm at networking and industry events
    • Develop and execute on strategic marketing plans including the identification of opportunities, determination of an effective sales strategy for each target and measurement of results
  • Act as a mentor and role model to other members of the team

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA, CPA, JD and/or CFA is desired
  • Minimum of 10 years of client facing experience in investment banking, legal, corporate finance or accounting functions.
  • Proven experience developing new clients
  • Preferred experience in strategy or transaction advisory consulting
